(RTTNews) -  With Miley Cyrus continuing to be a teen phenomenon, her latest movie, "The Last Song," is the most prominent new release hitting stores this week on standard DVD and Blu-ray. Also getting launched is Brendan Fraser's "Furry Vengeance," though it completely tanked in theaters earlier in the year and has been one of the most heavily criticized movies of 2010.

For those looking for older titles, "Black Orpheus" and "The Conversation" are among the most popular films getting released in special edition sets that should have considerable appeal for film buffs.

Released in theaters at the end of March, "The Last Song" turned out to be a tremendous success for distributor Buena Vista. Based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, "The Last Song" capitalized on the popularity of star Miley Cyrus to the tune of $62 million domestically and $88 million worldwide - very good totals for a film with a production of just $20 million.

The movie also once again affirmed the commercial viability of adaptations of Nicholas Sparks' work. Each of the six films based on a Sparks novel has seen at least some commercial success, with "The Notebook" and "Dear John" being the biggest earners.
