Teen Choice Awards 2012: Ellen DeGeneres, Zac Efron among winners

 The Teen Choice Awards got under way with a star-studded red carpet Sunday night, followed by a slew of awards, which were handed out at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles.
The teen-fueled ceremony honors film, TV, music and sports stars in such silly categories as choice hottie, villain, liplock and hissy fit. A record 134 million votes were cast this year.
Pictures: The red carpet The first award of the night, choice comedian, went to Ellen DeGeneres. After accepting her surfboard, she honored Sophia Grace and Rosie with the choice web award.
"The Vampire Diaries" scored the choice TV honor in the sci-fi/fantasy category. Other winners included Zac Efron for choice actor in a drama and Michael Trevino for choice male TV scene stealer. In the movie category, "21 Jump Street" scored choice comedy.
When Selena Gomez picked up the choice music group for her band, Selena Gomez and the Scene, the crowd sang her a warm "Happy Birthday." Gomez, who was sitting in the audience next to her beau Justin Bieber, turned 22 on Sunday.
This year's choice hottie awards went to Miley Cyrus and Ian Somerhalder. Cyrus wasn't there to accept the honor, but Somerhalder thanked fans on her behalf.
Going into the 14th annual ceremony, Kristen Stewart's "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" and "Snow White and the Huntsman" both led the nominees at the fan-favorite ceremony with seven nods a piece. Others with multiple surfboard-shaped trophy nods included the CW's "The Vampire Diaries" with six nominations, and Fox's "American Idol" and Justin Bieber with five nods each.
The event kicked off with an introduction by the ceremony's co-hosts - pop star and new "The X Factor" judge Demi Lovato and "Glee" co-star Kevin McHale.
Lovato's "X-Factor" co-judges appeared in pre-taped segments. Simon Cowell joked in his typical way, calling Lovato a brat and describing her as irritating, annoying and said she had bad manners.
The Hollywood frolic comes two days after the midnight massacre at a Colorado movie theater showing "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 12 and injuring 58. Show organizers say that "The Dark Knight Rises" was not up for any Teen Choice awards this year nor was any reference to the tragedy planned during the show.
The show is also airing in the wake of a fog machine malfunction that forced the evacuation of a Hollywood nightclub Saturday night hosting a Teen Choice Awards pre-party featuring the boy band Midnight Red. Los Angeles Fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey said six people, ages 8 to 20 years old, were taken to the hospital for problems ranging from headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath and cryogenic burns.
Bieber will serve as one of the show's musical performers, along with Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida and No Doubt. DJ Pauly D of "Jersey Shore" will be on hand as the house DJ.
Celebrities in attendance include Zooey Deschanel, Josh Hutcherson, Lea Michele, Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift

The grandparents arrive from Texas, and she and Justin Bieber are both multiple-time nominees for Teen Choice awards, at the ceremony held tomorrow night. Busy day ahead! The singer-turned-actress will be with those she loves, reports Celebrity Café, and the whole weekend will be fun. But will Justin Bieber be invited to the family dinner?
Justin and Selena have just returned together, from his whirlwind concert tour covering parts of the far east. She tweeted feeling sick as she boarded the plane for the long flight home. Too much ice cream and hotel luxury, maybe.
Most people might like to rest a day or so after traveling, but Selena has no time to kick back on her birthday, or even to be sick. She has a family dinner to pull together, with the grandparents and her mom and stepdad. But will Justin be there? It matters, because in a serious relationship, the boyfriend would be at a family dinner, right? Otherwise, he would slip quietly away, and make his own plans for later.
Sunday night, for certain, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber will both attend the Teen Choice Awards. She is up for three, and he is nominated for more than one. Fans will want to see them walk that red carpet together, with grandparents clapping from the crowd.

Justin Bieber Spotted at Disneyland sans Selena Gomez--Is She Okay?

On March 19, Justin Bieber was spotted and photographed at Disneyland, but Selena Gomez was nowhere in sight. The last time the 2 were seen together they were leaving Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Selena's arm was bandaged at the elbow suggesting that she'd had blood tests done at the facility. Is she okay?
Whether he was exhausted from the physical challenges of being beaten up in a boxing ring in a new video or stressed out about his new opus, Boyfriend, the Teen Dream decided to take some time off to unwind in the "happiest place on earth." Disneyland also seems to be one of Justin Bieber's favorite places on earth. After all, he and Selena spent her birthday there last year. Jelena visited Disneyland on Valentine's Day 2012 as well, along with Justin's family. Unfortunately, their outing was infamously ruined by JB's altercation with a rude, overly aggressive fan. Nevertheless, Disneyland, more than anywhere else, is Jelena's place. But as you can see in the photos here, Justin showed up at the famous theme park alone. There's no sign of his family. And, even more conspicuously, there's no sign of his Disney star lady-love. That's really unusual, since Justin and Selena usually spend most of their non-working moments joined at the hip.
So, where in the world is Selena Gomez? And is she well or ill?
Sadly and predictably, Jelena haters who gloated when Selena was photographed leaving Cedars-Sinai 3 days ago, hoped for the latter.

Taylor Swift and Tim Tebow Spotted on a Date

Has Taylor Swift finally found Mr. Right in Tim Tebow?
Swifty has dated fellow musicians like Joe Jonas and John Mayer, and she's also found song inspiration in actors Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal. Unfortunately going after Hollywood guys hasn't worked out for her too well, so perhaps it's a good idea for her to work on snagging herself a sports star like the Kardashian sisters.
Speaking of Kim Kardashian, she's going to be very disappointed if Tim and Taylor start seriously dating—there were rumors that Kim wanted to start a Bible study group to impress the very religious Denver Broncos quarterback. But no amount of scripture reading will ever erase Kim's sex tape, and while Jesus may be forgiving, Tim Tebow fans would never forgive him for dating a famewhore.
Anyway, Taylor Swift might not be all that innocent and pure herself based on her dating history, but she certainly seems that way—she kind of looks like a friendly fairy or an elf that lives in an enchanted forest. She seems like an extremely sweet girl who doesn't use sex to sell her music, and that's a pretty hard trait to come by these days.
So since Taylor is one of Hollywood's best-behaved beauties, it shouldn't be all that surprising that she and Tebow were spotted looking flirty Friday night at WME's pre-Oscars bash. Apparently they enjoyed each other's company so much that they hooked up again for a dinner date on Monday.
According to Celebuzz, they ate at the Toscanova restaurant in Century City mall in LA. An eyewitness said that Taylor and Tim looked like they might have been there with their agents, so it's possible that they're just working on some kind of project together. Maybe Taylor wants Tim to come onstage during one of her shows, or perhaps they were discussing some kind of charitable project that they're teaming up for. However, it's a lot more fun to speculate that a romance is budding (sorry, Katy Perry!).
There are tons of successful athlete/celebrity couples, so maybe Taylor Swift and Tim Tebow will become the next Victoria and David Beckham or Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom (minus the sex swing, of course).

At the ages of 17 and 19, Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez may have thought it's a tad too early to be thinking of starting a family of their own.
And after a second day baby-sitting Justin's two year-old brother Jaxson the teen pop sensations certainly looked like their enthusiasm was flagging.
Yesterday the famous teenage couple were having a whale of a time as they played with two year-old Jaxson and four-year-old Jazmyn at Paradise Cove.
But today the pair appeared frazzled as Justin lifted the two-year-old tot, and all the necessary gear that accompanies him, out of the car and into a restaurant for lunch.

The restaurant is a haven for parents as the teppanyaki style cooking features noisy communal tables and chefs that perform tricks such as knife juggling and making volcanos out of a stack of onion rings guaranteed to keep even the most fractious child entertained.
Selena, wearing a leather waistcoat and ripped jeans, looked tired and walked ahead leaving Justin to grapple with little brother.

Yesterday, wearing a bright yellow T-shirt and multi-coloured surf shorts, the Canadian teenage heart-throb threw the delighted two-year-old into the air at one point.
Selena was also channeling her inner maternal instinct, laughing and smiling as the cute youngsters played in the sand.
The singer and actress matched her boyfriend's bright outfit, and looked especially pretty in a patterned yellow dress and blue denim jacket to keep out the sea breeze.

Justin, meanwhile, was full of cuddles for his little brother.
The family group had earlier grabbed lunch at the Paradise Cove restaurant in Malibu, before hitting the sand on the sunny day.

Jaxson and Jazmyn are Justin's half siblings from his father Jeremy's second marriage.
His mother Pattie brought him up in Canada as a single mother, but he has remained close to Jeremy and earlier this week was spotted out with his father and siblings at an restaurant and amusement arcade.
The pair later left the beach carrying the children, with Selena chatting on the phone while balancing Jaxson on her hip.

Meanwhile, Justin is reported to have recently hit the studio to make some new music with electro group Far East Movement.
'The Bieber thing, I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention it right now, but I did a few songs with Far East Movement, and one of the songs … to me, it’s a smash,' producer Red One recently told MTV News.
'Justin sang the chorus. It’s a really good song, and I think people are gonna dance like crazy to it.'

Taylor Lautner Admits Loving Girls With British Accents

'Twilight's' Taylor Lautner has revealed that he's a fan of a British's accent on the girl, and is looking forward to spending time in the UK, so much so - he's going to ask his former co-star Robert Pattinson about the best places to go out.
The actor, who plays Jacob Black in the films, recently revealed that he was consulting Rob on places to eat, although he won't be tweeting his dinner plans just in case he gets mobbed.
During his stint in London, Taylor said: "I've been there three or four times, but it's always flying straight in and out on promotion for a film. This time I'm here a bit longer, so I'm going to hit up Rob [Pattinson] about where I should go. I've heard there are some great restaurants, so I'm really looking forward to trying them."
But because of the fan craze around him and his Twilight co-stars, the 19-year-old admits that he's learned not to tweet his locations. He revealed how he copes with the Twi-hards.
"It can be difficult. But now I'm used to the screaming and the occasional grabbing," Taylor explained.
"The first time it ever happened I was like, 'WOAH! What's going on? Why are they screaming? Why are they touching me?'
"But now I get the fans' passion. We understand it so it's not that crazy to us anymore. I just have to be more strategic about where I go, so I don't go to the hippest restaurants at the busiest times, and I try not to tweet before I go."
He also told Company magazine that he was a fan of British ladies: "The British accent is definitely not a negative!

Demi Lovato calls self-inflicted scars 'beautiful' battle wounds

Demi Lovato says that the scars from her cutting disorder are like battle wounds and the tattoos she uses to cover them remind her of how far she has come.
The 19-year-old also survived an eating disorder and a public emotional breakdown for which she had to undergo rehab.
But the singer and actress said that she has come out from the depth of her troubles
"I think scars are like battle wounds-beautiful, in a way. They show what you've been through and how strong you are for coming out of it," Fox News quoted her as telling the January issue of Glamour magazine.
"My tattoos say "Stay strong." "Stay on one [wrist] and "strong" on the other. Now I'm able to look at them and be thankful for being alive," she said.
However, Lovato admits that she comes with a little bit of baggage from her experiences and that will affect her dating and future romantic relationships.
"It's a big responsibility dating me. Because I come with a little bit of baggage, you know?" she said.
"I'm completely open. I'm honest about the journey I've been on, so I definitely don't take dating lightly anymore," she added.
